Phil is also a turnaround architect and catalyzer of the highest order, who navigates with integrity and finesse. Bob has been leading healthcare and technology businesses for the past 40 years. Bob was Chairman and CEO of Vocera, a publicly traded HCIT company, recently sold to Stryker. Before this, he served as CEO of Wound Care Solutions, an operator of outsourced chronic wound care centers. Earlier, he was Chairman and CEO of Neoforma, a publicly traded healthcare technology company, and Executive Vice President and Group President of Cardinal Health, where he was responsible for five subsidiary companies. Bob has also been Division President of four different operating units at Baxter International. Prior to that, he served in various capacities at American Hospital Supply Corporation. Bob also serves on the board of Five9, a cloud-based software company, is Lead Director at Kate Farms, a plant-based nutrition company, as well as Cubex and Kinnos, two early stage healthcare technology companies. Bob is also a Trustee of Arizona State University.
Dr. Harris is currently CEO & Managing Partner of Vesalius Ventures, Inc., a venture capital firm, that invests in early to mid-stage Healthcare technologies and companies. He is responsible for managing a portfolio of private assets of early and mid-stage venture investments and operating companies. He also serves as Executive Director, National Math & Science Initiative and leads the organization’s efforts to improve teacher effectiveness and student achievement in communities across the country. He has been involved in math and science education for over 25 years through his philanthropy as founder of the Harris Institute & Foundation. Dr. Harris was at NASA for ten years, where he conducted research in musculoskeletal physiology and clinical investigations of space adaptation and developed in-flight medical devices to extend Astronaut stays in space. A veteran astronaut for over twenty years, he has logged more than 438 hours and traveled over 7.2 million miles in space. Dr. Harris completed a Residency in Internal Medicine at the Mayo Clinic, a National Research Council Fellowship in Endocrinology at the NASA Ames Research Center and trained as a Flight Surgeon at the Aerospace School of Medicine, Brooks Air Force Base. He is also a licensed private pilot and certified scuba diver. Dr. Harris is the recipient of numerous awards, including nine (9) honorary doctorates; (Stony Brook University (SUNY), Morehouse School of Medicine, New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT), Washington & Jefferson College, Worcester Polytechnic Institute, University of Hartford, Indiana Institute of Technology, University of Houston and University of the Sciences), NASA Space Flight Medal, NASA Award of Merit, National Space Grant Distinguished Services Award, James Bryant Conant Award, a fellow of the American College of Physicians, a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and the recipient of the 2000 Horatio Alger Award. Kris is Co-Founder & CEO of FHCC, an Arch Ventures-funded start-up company (in stealth mode) focused on building the next generation of behavioral health care for seniors. Most recently, Kris served as President of Aegis Living, one of the nation’s leading innovators in providing assisted living, memory care and wellness services to seniors. Prior to jumping into senior health, Kris spent over 16 years at Starbucks Coffee Company where he held multiple senior leadership roles including President of the company’s flagship U.S. Retail division and earlier as President of Starbucks Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMEA). While at Starbucks, Kris developed deep consumer experience leading the development and execution of a number of new product and digital innovations globally, establishing significant new growth partnerships both in the US and Europe and scaling several successful new store concepts and formats. Previously Kris worked for Madrona Venture Group, LLC, a Seattle based venture-capital fund. Early in his career, he was in public service. From 1993 to 2000, Kris held a number of positions in the Clinton White House, including Assistant Press Secretary and Personal Aide to the President. He received his B.A. in Public Administration from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville.
Tracy is the Founding Partner of 1843 Capital, a venture capital fund focused on early-stage technology companies. Through her work she hopes to change the way we view and experience aging. In 2021, Tracy was named to Forbes Magazine’s Inaugural “50 Over 50” list and in 2019 to Entrepreneur Magazine’s list of “100 Powerful Women.” Notable investments include Beautycounter (Exited: $1B), Tempo Automation (Exited Nasdaq: TMPO), and May Mobility. Formerly, she was a Partner at Baker Capital, a $1Billion growth capital fund and a VP at Robertson Stephens. She is also an Advisory Board member Millennium Technology Venture New Horizons Fund, Adviser UBS Project Entrepreneur, and Board Member Early Stage Montana.
Dr. Paiva is the founder and managing part of OLSF Ventures (OLSF). Through his 20-year venture capital journey, he has been a partner at Sevin Rosen Funds and was a partner at Chisholm Private Capital Partners. Before his venture capital career, Dr. Paiva served as a management consultant for the Life Sciences Industry Group at Pittiglio Rabin Todd & McGrath where he consulted with the top five pharmaceutical companies on product-development and technology-management projects. He also served as an investment banking associate at JP Morgan in New York, providing strategic and investment banking advisory services to Fortune 100 healthcare companies. In addition, Dr. Paiva launched Oklahoma State University’s Center for Health Systems Innovation that has a stated mission to transform rural and Native American health. Dr. Paiva holds a Ph.D. in molecular biology from the University of Oklahoma; an MBA from Dartmouth College’s Amos Tuck School of Business; a master’s degree in microbiology and immunology from the University of Oklahoma Health Science Center; and a BS in microbiology from the University of Oklahoma.
A quintessential entrepreneur, mentor, strategic visionary and company builder, Michael leads the Recuro Health team which includes several leaders from Teladoc, where he served as the founding CEO and Chairman for the first seven years of operations. Under his term, the company grew from a concept to one of the most recognized innovations in healthcare, with nearly two million patient members nationwide. Michael has served as a partner of the Texas Acceleration Group (TAG), an entity formed to assist startup companies and participated as a founder of Palo Duro Records. He is also credited as a founder of Internet Global, a company that delivered the first DSL network and one of the first VOIP networks. Prior to this, he worked as a project engineer at Dallas Power & Light dealing with power plants, distribution, transformer management and integration of renewable energy into the grid. Michael earned a B.S. in engineering from Texas Tech, an M.S. in Physics from the University of Texas at Dallas and a Juris Doctorate from Texas A&M.
