Federal Appeals Court Allows Vaccine Mandate to Resume for Large Companies

Get ready for a showdown…

A federal appeals court reinstated the Biden administration’s policy on coronavirus vaccination mandates for large private businesses, reversing a stay by another court that had suspended the mandate. The ruling was quickly appealed, continuing a battle that will likely be decided by the U.S. Supreme Court, which is likely to have the final say over the rules set to take effect January 4.

Issued by the Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), the temporary standard (ETS) states that employers having more than 100 employees must develop, implement and enforce a mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policy that requires workers to be fully vaccinated or test weekly with mandatory masking. There are exceptions for employees who do not work on-site.

Compliance Solution

With this federal mandate in flux and rising COVID-19 variant cases, employers continue to face countless pandemic-related challenges, including employee morale, employee productivity, adapting to remote work and much more. As a result, employers need guidance on vaccine compliance and an end-to-end solution that enables simple and quick testing and monitoring of COVID-19 status in employee populations.
